Rochelle Rabouin and Stewart Shelton will present a quick timeline of the history of Jazz in America from its roots in Africa to its landing in New Orleans and beyond. Focus is on prominent African American female vocal pioneers. The program includes the jazz poetry of Ntozake Shange and jazz collage art by Romare Beardon. The audience will construct a JAZZ COLLAGE during the performance to be hung in the library. All ages
